Last thursday Boston got a 103 degree fever. His first fever...I am not a fan! It lasted until Sunday and was responding well to meds so we weren't too worried. On Sunday the fever went down and Boston broke out into a rash and based on pictures I had seen of my friends baby and the fact that everyone seems to be getting roseola lately I thought it was that. Well, the rash didn't get worse like roseola would have so yesterday I took him to the doc just to make sure everything was ok.
Turns out he has Fifths Disease. First off, whatever genius decided to name a viral infection a disease needs to be kicked! What mother wants to hear that her baby has a disease?! It makes you're heart stop for a second! Anyways, when the doctor explained that it was a viral infection I wasn't so worried. It should be gone in a few days and we should be back to normal :)
Oh and in case you're wondering.. you know if it's fifths disease by the rash. The rash makes their cheeks super red like they have just been slapped (DR'S WORDS! which i think is a terrible way to describe it) and they have a lacey/mottled looking rash (mostly on the arms and legs). Boston's little thighs looks like he's wearing red lace tights :)
