More San Diego

Day 3.. Sea World all day and a little boogie boarding in the night that ended badly for Coco

Sea World was a blast! We went to all of the shows and Boston sat still as can be through all of them.(That means they were amazing cuz he does NOT sit still!) Of course Shamu was a favorite! We sat in the splash zone during the sea lion show and didn't even get a drop of water on us so the next show, the new Cir De Solel one, we decided to sit in the splash zone again. This time the result was very different! We got SOAKED! They have these black dolphins come out as evil doom-and-gloom music is playing and they absolutely soak the crowd. We actually died laughing at all these people screaming and running up the aisle to escape. The scene was so perfect with the music. I guess you had to be there..

Coco and Boston with the stingrays

Feeding the sea lions was a highlight of my trip! I love sea lions! Boston loved them too! He had fun feeding them the fish.

Barking at us for more fish. Boston loved it!
Sea lions just crack me up. Especially the Sea World ones with how loud they are to get your attention and the great lengths they take to intercept a flying fish from their friend

I love seeing things thru Boston's eyes! He gets so excited seeing all the animals and discovering new things. It's probably my favorite thing that I get to experience as a mom

Coco and Boston. BFFs

Walking down to see the artic animals!

My little polar bear family in our den

We went to the peguins which were Boston's favorite (mine too!) so we bought him a little peguin of his own

No make-up on sorry guys. eek!

We went on the Atlantis ride and got SOAKED! The first run Rob came with us and so Cole was by herself in the front and took ALL the water while I hid safely behind her ha ha Rob didn't go a second round and he was lucky cuz we all got it pretty bad the second time

It was a super fun day at Sea World! Like I said, the day ended badly for Cole. We went down to the beach before dinner to boogie board some more and Cole got stung by a stingray as we were all doing our last boogie boarding run of the day. She didn't know that she got stung, she just thought she got cut. The barb got stuck in her ankle which happens rarely so of course that happened to Cole.. the most unlucky person I know! She held out in crazy pain for 3 or 4 hours then finally gave in to all of our pleas for her to go to the ER. She is such a toughy that seeing her bawling from pain freaked us all out that something was seriously wrong. The Dr was shocked she lasted so long before coming in and was impressed with her pain tolerance. They gave her some warm water to soak her foot in and cut out the barb. Poor thing could have been saved from a lot of pain if we would have realized she got stung and put her foot in warm water right away. And on Day 3 of our vacation no less! Only Cole...

I love Sea World! We took My son, Harris, for the first time when he was 3 and he fell in love with Shamu. We bought him a little stuffed one on that first trip that he has slept with EVERY night since (almost 3 years now). And every time we have been back he brings his little Shamu with! I love it. :)

Your poor sister! My dad got stung by a stingray several years ago. While the barb didn't stay in, it did hit an artery. When he got back on the beach after it happened there was so much blood they thought he had been bitten by a shark! I bet she has an awesome scar story now. ;)

Your whole trip sounds and looks AMAZING. I am slightly (or a LOT) jealous....I'm ready to leave this crappy, cold winter weather forever! :)

P.S. How do you still look that pretty without makeup on?? I look like a half-dead zombie when I'm all natural!
