time out

Yep, Boston had his first time-out the other day! I doubt there will be anymore anytime soon, but I really needed a few minutes to re-coup.

To start, he was having "one of those days". Then, mid-morning he ripped a bunch of pages out of Rob's scriptures in a matter of seconds. When I picked him up and said, "No, no Boston we don't rip our scriptures." what did my sweet boy do? Hit me in the face!!! Honestly I don't think he meant to hit me. He does this cute thing where he shakes a finger at me whenever I tell him no {seriously have NO idea where that came from!! We have never done it!} and I think he was just shaking his hand really quick and my face was lucky enough to be right there. Either way I needed a few Boston-free minutes!!!

So I told him he was going to time-out in his crib and as we walked across the house together, he laid his head on my shoulder and tried to give me cuddles. What a smart kid! He was totally trying to get out of time-out! It didn't work. I still put him down. His time-out only lasted 60 seconds or so...long enough for me to go get a drink of water in the kitchen... and he really enjoyed it cuz I didn't think to take his binkies and blanket out of the crib. Next time I'll know better :)

You are the cutest mom ever! You have a ton of patience! Good job, I would've just lost it I am sure. I hate it when my kids get the best of me. I will take note and try to be more like you next time. WWKD? What Would Kayla Do? Cute story!!!

This is probably just the beginning of time outs! It's crazy how smart kids are. As soon as I start taking Vance to timeout he immediately tries to give hugs and kisses. In my opinion, a quick 1-minute time out can do a lot of good!
